Would be really interested in the inspiration/ideas behind this one. Possibly....she wants you to knock before entering so they don't see her zebra friend? (Who might be imaginary to everyone else?) Or so she can imagine him going away before anyone comes in, taking away the opportunity for anyone to point out he's not real?
